Betty J. Sanders, 81, of Cadiz, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz. She was born February 16, 1928 in Robeyville, OH, a daughter of the late Anthony and Retta Moore Celestino. Mrs. Sanders was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz where she served on the Board of Deacons, and was a retired Record Keeper for Dr. Ajit Modi. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Carmella Celestino; her step-father, John DeWalt; a granddaughter, Renae Barrett; and two sisters, Geneva Hooker and Doris Durbin. Surviving are her husband, William E. Sanders; two sons, Anthony Lewis (Gail) Dewalt and Richard (Paula) Celestino, all of Cadiz; three granddaughters, Lora Celestino of Key West, FL and Beth Ann and Melissa Dewalt, both of Cadiz; a grandson, Mitchell (Tawnya) Celestino of Cadiz; a great granddaughter, Olivia Grace Dewalt; a step-daughter, Linda (Daniel) Barrett of Canton; three step-grandchildren, Valerie (James) Alberta of Canton, Kim (Tom) Marchand of Hartville, OH and Brian (Jessica) Barrett of Canton; five step-great grandchildren: Priscilla, McKenzie, Rachel, Matthew and Claire; and three sisters, Bernice Sedgmer of Cadiz, Maxine Bates of Unionvale and Lila (Keith) Bates of Moorefield. Friends may call Thursday, 2:30 - 4:30 and 7 - 9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, 172 S. Main St., Cadiz. Funeral Services will be held Friday, April10 at 11:00 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz, 154 W. Market St., Cadiz, with Rev. R.J. Leek officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to the Love Fund at the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz at the above address.
