Benjamin Ramsey

Benjamin L. Ramsey, 70, Cadiz, died Tuesday August 27, at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz. He was born April 5, 1932 in Cadiz, Ohio a son of the late William and Manilla Tyler Ramsey. Ben was a former employee of Y&O Coal Company; the Village of Cadiz working at Cadiz Union Cemetery; and a former Railroad employee. He also was a member of St. James AME Church in Cadiz and former member of the former VFW Post 6564. He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by 2 brothers: Raymond and Charles Ramsey; and 3 sisters: June Ramsey, Edwina Coleman, and Eunice Brown. Surviving are 2 sons: Marshall and Ray Ramsey both of Cadiz; 2 daughters: Foncetta Johnson and Paula Ramsey both of Cadiz; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a sister, Irene Gardner of Pittsburgh; and 2 brothers: Edward Ramsey of Mingo Junction and Franklin ''Doc'' Tyler, Cadiz. Calling hours are Thursday, August 29 from 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Funeral service will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at St. James AME Church, Cadiz with Rev. Paul Bigsby and Rev. Bernard Gaiton officiating. Burial follows at Cadiz Union Cemetery.
