Beatrice Morgan Gibby, 86, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, formerly of Cadiz, died Sunday, May 22, 2005 in Palm Beach Gardens. She was born August 12, 1918 in Jackson County, Ohio, a daughter of the late John and Etta Williams Morgan. Mrs. Gibby received her early education in Jackson County at Bloomfield School. She graduated from Ohio University in 1940, majoring in Secretarial Studies, with a B.S. in Education. She was the Instructor of Business Studies at Warsaw (Ohio) Senior High School. During WW II, she was the Executive Secretary at Goodyear Aircraft Corp. in Akron, Ohio. After the war, she served as a Supervisor of Transcribers of Medical Records at the Veteran's Administration in Cleveland, Ohio. Beginning in 1949 she was the Clerk/Typist for the Harrison County Prosecuting Attorney, and was a Legal Secretary for her husband, Attorney Morris O. Gibby. From 1972 to 1974, she was a Secretary at the U.S. Embassy in Lisbon Portugal. From 1968 to 1980, she accompanied her husband, Morris O. Gibby, a State Dept. Foreign Service Officer in Rome, Lisbon, and London. She enjoyed her travel and learning about cultures, customs and characteristics of others. She loved classical music (opera, orchestra, piano and organ), the music of the Big Band Era, and the theatrical stage. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Morris O. Gibby in 1998. Surviving are a sister, Geraldine Morgan Jeffrey (Robert) of Camano Island, WA; two brothers, John Ivan Morgan (Pauline) of Dublin, OH and Merrill Leray Morgan (Sarah) of Columbus, and a dear friend, Don Migliore (Barbara) of Ft. Lauderdale. Graveside Services will be held at Cadiz Union Cemetery on Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. David Rice officiating.
