Audrey Ball

Audrey Ellen Ball, 88, Cadiz, died Saturday, November 9, at Harrison Community Hospital. She was born July 30, 1914 in Mt. Ephriam, Ohio a daughter of the late Grant and Martha Carpenter Shafer. Audrey was a retired employee of Y & 0 Coal Company; executive secretary for American Cancer Society in eastern Ohio; a member of Scott United Methodist Church; the Ruth Circle at the church and a founding committee member for the Mazeroski Baseball Field Committee. Audrey was preceded in death by her husband,James Frederick Ball in 1972; a son Michael Ball; an infant son, Milton Ball; a brother, Raymond Shafer; and a sister, Betty Davis. Surviving are a son Joseph Ball and his wife Donna of Hopedale; 2 daughters: Carol (Susie) Bollman and husband Milt of Denver and Cathy Ball of Columbus; 5 grandchildren: Douglas, Marianne, and Michael Bollman and Scott and Andy Ball; a sister, Helen Dennis of Caldwell; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are Monday, November 11, 3-5 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 12, at 10:30 a.m. at Scott United Methodist Church, Cadiz with Rev. Robert Hooker. Burial follows at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge, Ohio. Memorial Contributions may be made to Scott UMC, 817 East Market Street, Cadiz, Ohio 43907; American Cancer Society, Box 274, Cadiz, Ohio 43907; or the charity of the donors choice.
