Aubrey J. Carter, 91, of Booneville, MS, formerly of New Athens, OH, died Saturday, January 3, 2009 at the home of his son in Booneville. He was the son of the late Euell and Clova Snodgrass Scott. He was a member of the New Athens United Methodist Church and was a retired Coal Miner from Y. & O. Coal Co. (thirty seven years). He was a school bus driver for ten years and enjoyed being around children very much, especially his grandchildren. He loved to work with wood and made lots of furniture for family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty eight years, Betty Edwards Carter; a grandson, Edward Carter; three brothers, Comley, Richard and Doyle Carter; and two sisters, Ann Dukdukovich and Elaine Rogers. Surviving are a son, Keith (Cammellia) Carter of Booneville, MS; a daughter, Kathryn (Glen) Kerestes of Billings, MT; four grandchildren, Belinda Carter, LaGrange, OH; John (Penny) Carter, Fromberg, MT; Virginia (David) Wesebaum, Sheffield, OH; and Amy (Chris) Larsen, Roundup, MT; two step-grandchildren, Greg Sanders, Booneville, MS and Vicki (Alvin) Adams, Booneville, MS; six grandchildren, Brittany Smith, Bethany Wesebaum, Elizabeth and Megan Larsen, and John and Alyssa Carter; three step-great grandchildren, Michael Hazelburg, Briana Hendrix and Amber St. Peter; five brothers, James Carter, Cadiz, Charles (Connie) Carter, CA, Jack (Angie) Chamberlain, Tuscarawas, OH, John (Polly) Scott, Havre de Grace, MD and Thomas (JoAnne) Scott, Weston, NJ; and two sisters, Betty Robertson, Cambridge, OH and Linda Smith, Columbus. Friends may call Monday, 6-8 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, OH, where funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Rodney Bowers officiating.
