Archie R. Kelley, 81, of Cadiz, died Monday, December 6, 2004 at Genesis-Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville. He was born November 28, 1923 in Unionvale, Ohio, a son of the late Harvey and Nora Thompson Kelley. He was a retired Class A Mechanic for Hanna and Consolidation Coal Companies in Cadiz and attended the Cadiz Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. An avid baseball player, he was a pitcher for teams in Piney Fork in his youth. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom and Chester Kelley; and by three sisters, Vivian Straight, Wilma Davidson, and Shirley Kelley. Surviving are his wife, Joanne Zimmerman Kelley; one son, Dennis and his wife, Pauline Kelley of Port St. Lucie, FL; two daughters, Brenda and her husband, Frank Collins of Coshocton, and Patricia and her husband, William Brown of Altamonte Springs, FL; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruth Brinker of Lodi, and Alice Chaney of Canton. Friends may call Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. with James Richmond officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society.
