Anna Wheeler

Anna Yvonne Wheeler, 69 of Columbus, formerly of Cadiz, died Friday, July 24, 2015 at the Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio. She was born March 3, 1946 in Martins Ferry, Ohio a daughter of the late Lawrence A. and Laura K. Miller Wheeler. She was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church in Cadiz and St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Columbus. A retired school teacher having taught in the Columbus Public Schools, she was a member of the National Association of Black School Educators; the Ohio State University Black Alumni Association and served in the U.S. National Guard during Vietnam Era. She is survived by a son, Christopher (Theresa) Wheeler of Hudson, New York; her brothers: Lawrence U. "Monty" (Hope) Wheeler and Howard G. (Cheryl) Wheeler all of Columbus; 3 grandchildren: Tyler, Noah and Emma; and her Aunt, Dorothy Goggins of Columbus, Ohio. Calling hours will be held Sunday, August 2 from 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, Ohio. Funeral service will be held Monday, August 3 at 1:00 p.m. at St. James A.M.E. Church, 300 East Market Street, Cadiz, with Rev. William Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. James A.M.E.
