Ann Young

Ann Mattern Young, 81, of Painesville, Ohio, formerly of Cadiz, died Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Tri Point Medical Center in Concord, OH. She was born February 11, 1929 in Adena, Ohio, a daughter of the late Albert H. Mattern and Mary Anna Dziatkowicz Mattern. Mrs. Young was a waitress and clerk, having worked at Bertschi's Restaurant in Cadiz and Gray Drug and W.T. Grant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Young, Sr. in 1983 and by a sister, Helen Barnhart. Surviving are a son, Al Young, Jr. of Painesville; two brothers, Albert (Betty) Mattern and John (Pat) Mattern, all of Cadiz; a sister, Laura (Larry) Ward of Hopedale and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Paul Giffin officiating.
