Amelia Slater, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2024, at the age of 84. She was the devoted wife of Wayne K. Slater for 41 years, cherished mother of Catherine (Ron) Taylor, Marybeth (Greg) Crawford, and Cynthia (Ron) Garlinger, grandmother of 6, and great grandmother of 9.
Born on March 15, 1940, Amelia was the daughter of the late Michael P. Ryan and Catherine A. Sall Ryan. She was a loving sister, Aunt Sis, and friend, who touched the lives of all who knew her with her warmth, compassion, and unwavering support. Amelia’s spirit and strength of character were evident in everything she did, from raising her children to caring for her family and friends.
Amelia’s life was defined by her love for her family, her deep faith, and her commitment to serving others. She was a part of the Cadiz Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was a dedicated nurse, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who found joy in the simple pleasures of life.
In addition to her immediate family, Amelia is survived by a sister, Andrea Hut.
Amelia’s family will celebrate her life privately. Amelia will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
