Alva L. "Alvie" Keener, 49, of Jewett, died Thursday at the home of his sister, Kimmy, near Claysville, PA. He was born October 10, 1964 in Washington, PA, a son of Violet "Bunny" Prosser Keener and the late Kenneth W. Keener. Alvie was a self employed tree trimmer and was also a scared roofer, but a good ground man. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a nephew, William Miller; his former wife, Janice; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. Surviving are three daughters, Heather (Justin) Hoobler of Jewett, Elizabeth Keener of Amsterdam, and Kristina Keener of Ware Shoals, SC; eight grandchildren, whom he loved dearly; nine siblings, James (Tina) Keener of Amsterdam, Kimberly Keener (Bill Phillips) of PA, (who with Desiree (Billy) and Austin were his caregivers until his death), Kevin (Dee) Keener , who were caregivers during his first year of illness, of Bloomingdale, Dave (Beth Ann) Miller, Brenda Dilly, Becky (Bob) Wheeler, Ronnie (Sharon) Keener, Sammy (Marcia) Keener, Kenny Keener, and his "other brother", Melvin "On 2" (Tammy) Anderson, all of PA. He was loved by several nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and great nephews, and the "red headed woman who satisfied his soul", Kim "Dego" Leiby. In the famous words of Gary Keener, "The gig is up." Friends may call Monday from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:30 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz.
