Alberta Parrish

Alberta J. Parrish, 79, Cadiz, formerly of Jewett, died Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz, Ohio. She was born July 12, 1927 in Georgetown, Ohio a daughter of the late Clarence Willard and Beulah Smith Hawthorne. She was a member of Hanover United Methodist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death in addition to her parents, by her husband, John S. Parrish in 1975; a brother, Clarence (Bud) Hawthorne; and a sister, Jane Rogers. She is survived by 5 sons: Roger Parrish and his wife Ruth Ann of Columbus, David Parrish and his wife Dianna of Jewett, Gary Parrish and his wife Gretta of Senecaville, Perry Parrish and his wife Pamela of Cadiz, and Craig Parrish and his wife Diane of Okeechobee, Florida; 1 daughter, Barbara Simpson and her husband Kevin of Brilliant, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Glenn Hawthorne of Freeport; and 2 sisters: Grace Grimes of Cadiz and Elta Mae Fletcher of New Athens, Ohio. Calling hours are Friday, January 12, 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz where funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bruce Zimmerman and Rev. Richard Hasley officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Gardens Cemetery, Jewett, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Lung Association.
